EGRonda 2026 Announcement

The Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mining Development, represented by H.E. Minister Mr. Antonio Oburu, has announced the upcoming EGRonda 2026, a new oil and gas licensing round scheduled to launch in April 2026.

All exploration and production (E&P) companies worldwide are invited to participate in this new chapter of investment and exploration success. The licensing round will offer 25 blocks, coupled with significantly improved fiscal terms for investors designed to boost exploration activity and profitability.

Detailed information regarding the timeline, application procedures, and other relevant details for EGRonda 2026 will be published in April next year.

The Ministry’s open-door policy, which allows companies to directly apply and negotiate contracts with the government, will remain in effect until the launch of EGRonda 2026. It is important to note that this licensing round does not include the mining sector; therefore, the open door policy will continue to be the applicable framework for mining companies.

This initiative reaffirms Equatorial Guinea’s commitment to providing a transparent, investor-friendly environment that encourages both local and international participation in its resource development.
